Front "clip"...
Newbie question...
What exactly does it mean when someone says the front "clip"?
I have seen a lot of posts were they removed the front clip but can't figure out exactly what they mean.
Thanks for your patience.

When I hear front clip I think of the front fenders, inner fender liners, the core support and sometimes the grill. If you unbolt the fenders from the cowl, the core support from the frame, a few other minor details... then you can lift off this assembly as a unit. John

Front clip is fenders, inner fenders, hood, core support, and loaded header panel.
Many people mess this up by calling the header panel the front clip, when in fact it is not.

+1.
The whole front body forward of the doors. Comes right off at the junk yard with fairly few fasteners, and can be stacked on large outdoor shelves for later retrieval.

Well. that's the way it USED to be with body-on-frame cars. Not so easy now with unibody construction.

most yards now have a saw and cut them through the windshield post and across the floor.Tha saw is 2 cycle just like a chain saw but the blade is more od a diamond cutoff disk about 15 " across. You dont want to argue with one.

The front clip can also be called the "doghouse".
Like when you take it off the car and set it out in the yard and let the dog live under it.
