Chaps
Car is A3 8P 2.0 tdi
On previous cars i have owned - whilst looking into the engine bay - there has been a thottle cable for me to pull to rev the engine..
Is there something similar on my A3? and where is it please. i cannot find anything anywhere?

Sorry electronic throttle control you will need a mate. The go pedal is just a potentiometer that tells the Engine Management Unit how much throttle you want.

Drive-by-wire, it's how the cruise control works too (iirc).
Have you got VCDS? If so go into Engine>Adaption & alter the idle speed (take a note of the original value first though so you can return it), I've done this a few times with the laptop perched under the bonnet & never had any issues, the only thing is it will hold the engine at a constant rpm rather than actually revving it. Why do you need to rev the engine out of curiosity?
