I bought these because I heard they might help my plantar fasciitis, and although I was able to walk rather than crawl to the parking garage after work after wearing them, the custom orthotics I had made did a much better job. I gave the Danskos a fair chance as well...two months. However, for me, the two months gave the shoes a chance to mess up my little toes in a big way, and then I could barely walk because of that pain instead of the plantar fasciitis. Both little toes rubbed badly and were inflamed & developing callouses which even the orthotic maker was surprised to see, and the shoes were not too tight. I guess they were just wrong for me and my gait, because many people wear them and don't seem to have a problem. Also, I personally needed more cushioning on the bottom. The soles are leather which is nice, and designed to conform to your feet, but for me, just too hard on my heels.
