Antacid tablets are minimally toxic. If your child ate antacid tablets, give them a few sips of water and monitor for signs of constipation.
If your child ate Pepto Bismol chewables, call IPC now at 1-800-222-1222 for advice specific to your situation. These items contain extra ingredients.
Eating antacid tablets doesn’t usually cause symptoms, but your child may experience constipation.
If symptoms last more than 2-3 days, Call IPC now at 1-800-222-1222.
Antacid tablets may cause irritation if exposed to eyes.
If your child got residue from antacid tablets in their eyes, rinse by pouring clean, lukewarm water across the affected eye(s) for 15 minutes.
