I got a sweet deal on a set of winter rims/tires. Only after the fact did I notice the center bore being too small for my vehicle ( rim CB 57.1 / car CB 70.3 ). The difference is quite drastic. I've been pondering solutions, boring is one that I don't want to do so what is left? Spacers ? Selling is another option but is rather find a "keep" option.

it's not a sweet deal if it's the wrong size...

No options if you don't want to bore or run spacers (which could mean new studs too). Time to sell and try again.

Well, the only realistic way to keep them is to swap your hubs out with one that fits the rims.

If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

You'll have to measure the lip on the hub to see what mm spacer is needed to clear it. Most stock studs can only take 5mm spacers at most while still giving enough thread for enough rotations. Bolt on spacers isn't going to work since they're typically designed to keep the same bore on both sides.

You could use wheel spacers that are thick enough to basically cover the centerbore, then it won't be an issue. What could be an issue though would be the space in the wheel well, but you'd have to just try that.

That's what I was thinking. Running a very very mild spacer to clear the hub lip. Im going to measure today but I believe it's 5-6 mm lip at most. Never ran a spacer on steel wheels, debating it though.

Find a set of rims that fit and have the tires remounted. Sell the rims you have?

Don't use spacers, lol. Worst idea ever.

if you didn't even know how to buy the right fitting rims in the first place, don't you think you will strike out again on 'spacers'? don't take the risk, these wheels/tires connect you to the road and is a safety issue if you don't know what you are doing. Next thing you know, with spacers you'll have vibration issues.. or your tire treads will wear out weirdly.

If your center bore is wrong, I bet your offset is wrong too. Lol, did you do any research before buying this paperweight?

If you missed the bore size, are you sure you also looked to see if your new wheels have the right bolt pattern?.... I hope you realize it's not just the number of holes right?

It would suck for you to cut your Hub/wheels(if that were even possible), just to realize the wheels are 5x100, but you need 5x114.3 for example.

OP what diameter wheels are they? I am looking for 57.1 bore 18" wheels for my Golf R,

Please don't change rims from hub centric to lug centric.
You are asking to wear out bearings and suspension parts.
It will be cheaper in the long term to buy the correct rims.
Costco and everyone else has steel rims for fairly cheap.

You can sell to me for cheap. My car centre bore is 57.1. What you are driving and what rim you trying to fit?
