Hello again.......
If you check this area of our site you will find more direct info on the Spec Cs - http://www.spec-c.co.uk/what-model-is-my-impreza/
Also, if you scroll down a bit on the forum there is a dedicated Spec C help section. Lots of reviews and specs pinned at the top.
Rgds, Ade
Hi ade, I had already been into that section of the forum and had a look. Unfortunately the spec c wr limited and spec c ra have the same engine code model number and gearbox code so was trying to establish I there was a way of distinguishing between the two?!?
Not 100% sure on the blob but this might help?
http://www.sti.jp/spec_c_RA/02/01/index.html
Don't quote me on this but I think there were the following:
Spec c 'motor sport'
16 inch alloys, no brembos, manual DCCD and a low level of interior, basically built to strip it out, replace brakes wheels etc. the lightest version with no aircon.
Spec c
The 'standard' spec c package, lightweight etc and everything you always read about the spec c.
Spec c limited
Not 100% on this but I think its as above but with a few more electrical things like folding mirrors, rev limit buzzer and an external temp sensor.
Spec c Ra
The electrical stuff from the limited but I think the main differences are the inverted adjustable dampers, Enkei wheels and carbon spoiler?
Not sure if the blob RA has the pillowball links, titanium strut, rear strut and modified inlet, think that was introduced on the hawkeye Ra.
All of the above is from memory so I could be miles of, I'm going from a couple of years back as I nearly got a blob Ra before I got my hawk Ra. Again on the blobs I can't remember if they all had splitters, or if they all had dark interiors?
Hi ade, I had already been into that section of the forum and had a look. Unfortunately the spec c wr limited and spec c ra have the same engine code model number and gearbox code so was trying to establish I there was a way of distinguishing between the two?!?
The spec c ra will have all black interior, various pink STI suspension components(trailing arms, 4 way adjustable suspension etc), carbon fibre rear wing and "keep attacking the nurburgring" decals on the front door. The WR limited will have a blue interior (seats, carpet and door cards) but otherwise is just a standard spec c with none of upgraded suspension components of the RA.
I have a WR Limited they have electric windows, mirrors and air con standard spec c suspension they also an ra hope this helps.
Could somebody please help me out and tell me the differences between an blob spec c and a blob spec c ra??? I have looked all over and am just confusing myself....... Do the vin codes of a spec c ra have a code on them or????? Many thanks for any responses. Thanks max
Hi Mazy jazz,
I take it your're asking about the difference between a Spec C WR Limited 2004 and a Spec C Type RA 2004 from your 2nd post.
Basically you're looking at these differences.
Spec C WR Limited 2004
- Produced to celebrate their rally win
- Basically a normal Spec C with some unique badges and trim
- Comes in 2 colours (WR blue and white)
- Regular gold STI wheels
- Yellow 'Subaru World Rally Team' embroidery on front seats
- Blue interior
- Aluminium gearknob
- Aluminium pedals
- Yellow 'Subaru World Rally Team' sticker on fog lamp covers
- SWRT badge on boot lid
Spec C Type RA 2004
- Produced to mark their achievement of breaking the 8 min lap record on Nurburgring hence 'RA' (Record Attempt)
- Limited to 300 in production
- Comes in 3 colours (WR blue, white and red)
- Silver STI lightweight Enkei wheels
- Black interior
- Low carbon spoiler
- 'Keep attacking the Nurburgring' sticker on front doors
- Type RA badge on boot lid
- Front lip
- Front corner spoiler
- Pink suspension struts
- Aluminium pedals
That's pretty much it.
Regards
Errol
